Soccer Game at 7pm

Deep inside the beaten path, hugging the city's outskirts, well on your way to visit the Playa de la Boca Chica... And just a couple of cornfields down you'll find the spot where many local children, ages toddler to teen, spend their late summer afternoon playing soccer.

The fee is only one dollar and a mom and little daughter combo charge you at the entrance. You pretty much make your own parking... there are some seats available on some of the fields, but you can never know which field they are going to assign. Most people choose to bring their own chairs and drinks, many make an entire picnic out of it. Some just sit on the hood of their cars and watch the games and time go by...

Of course, all the children get to play, regardless of their skills.

Thanks to all those people that volunteer and make these games available to our kids.

Calling it a Day...

I decided to call it a day early from work and got home at 1 in the afternoon. I took a nap on the couch with my puppies and i awoke to the noise of rain hitting the living room window. I can't get over how excited i am to see a change in the weather. Today it rained for the 3rd straight day. Weather stations predict more rain all week.

Miriam had a long day at the hospital and got out of work around 7pm. We ordered pizza and watched the new show on ABC called EMPIRE.

The Children's Museum of Brownsville

On July 17th, we hosted a small presentation on "how to behave around puppies" at the Children's Museum of Brownsville. They assembled a wonderful group of children and parents. We had a ton of fun, and had the opportunity to soak in the Beautiful South Texas sights. Check it out!

I don't know who had more fun, us or the kids? Hilda and Jennifer brought our Golden Retriever "Luke" who always has so much patience with children.

As you can see the children were so excited to meet with Jennifer, Hilda and of course our puppy Luke.

Summer Shower

It rained today… a sight that has so seldom been seen here. I enjoyed a moment’s rest and seat at the bench of my balcony with Miriam and our dogs.

What started as an odd creeping shadow suddenly turned into a nice rain.

Welcome to Brownsville

Welcome to Warm & Sunny Brownsville, Texas.

Except for December 24th & 25 of the Year 2004

Welcome to My World

I don’t think it is completely strange of someone to believe in fate. Whether it is "good" or "bad" fate, every decision that we make in our entire life depends on decisions that we have made in the past. It also speaks true to decisions we have already, whether unconsciously or consciously, made for the future.

Everything cleverly positioned,
played like dominos
and for the most part,
a statistic’s game we
can never escape…
